Back in March, Toyota and SoftBank corp, started MONET Technologies. This company is aimed at the following services:
What started off an essentially a platform for Toyota to more rapidly develop future autonomous driving and e-mobility capabilities has today expanded to include many of Japans automakers.
The announcement today saw Hino (Toyota’s Commercial Vehicle division) and Honda taking 10% stakes in MONEY technologies, with Isuzu, Suzuki, Subaru, Daihatsu and Mazda each taking up about 2% stakes in the company as well.
It’s worth noting that Nissan and Mistubishi are completely absent from the list, perhaps due to the existing technologies being developed for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.
