Perodua has just introduced a revised Alza with more features than ever before to give the Alza sedan car features with MPV lifestyle gear at a lower new selling price for all variants. This revised Alza now has greater safety features, enhanced audio-visual upgrades as well as a more versatile interior design.
The improvements include the ISOFIX points for child safety seats in the second row of the vehicle and splitting the 3rd row sear in half to allow greater customisation by the users – these 2 improvements are standard for all new variants.
Perodua product planners also included a compartment in the front centre armrest for the automatic variant for greater storage convenience. For the Advanced Version variant, Perodua includes new multimedia system with a roof mounted monitor for the passengers and a new navigation system together with reverse camera for the driver.
“The New Alza represents both Perodua and its vendor’s combined efforts to give greater value to our customers. All-in-all the improvements made equalled a value of RM4,000 per unit,” Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
The New Alza was launched by Perodua Chairman, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin tonight at the One Utama new wing shopping mall.
“On top of these improvements, we are also reducing the on-the-road price for the Alza variant which range by between 2.1% and 7.4% – thus making the Alza the most competitive MPV in the market,” Aminar said.
“This is also in line with the government’s desire for automotive manufacturing companies to reduce vehicle prices gradually,” he added.
Perodua management also announced that it has expanded its 3-year free service programme to all its models introduced as part of its 20th anniversary celebration last year to this year, 2014.
“Since we opened bookings for the New Perodua Alza on the 20th of December last year, I am very pleased to announce that we have received a total of 5,000 bookings during a 21-day period.
“This response is an honour because it shows the trust and faith Malaysians have in our brand and we will continue to add greater value in our offerings so that our customers will continue their journey with us,” Aminar said.
In terms of the Alza’s sales performance, Aminar said that since the model was introduced in November 2009 to December 2013, Perodua sold 167,000 units an average of 340 units per month (over a 50-month period).
“Just to give u a better perspective, the total number of MPVs sold in the country from 2010 to the end of 2013 is estimated to be 396,000 units, which makes the Alza the best-selling MPV over that period,” he said.
“As we move forward, we aim to continue making the Alza the most affordable and most preferred MPV in Malaysia,” Aminar said.
“The sales volume achieved so far has shown that the Alza is well accepted by the public – not just in the MPV market but also in the sedan market.”
“The flexibility offered is not just in terms of features but transcends gender and demographics – The Alza is truly a vehicle for everyone,” he added.
