0Crossover Of The Year – Subaru XV
Crossovers are an ever important segment in the market. Like it or not, more hatchback, wagon and sedan sales are being eaten up by these types of cars. But where most crossovers use the added bulk to create design features, the XV uses it to add value. What value are we talking about? Well, the XV sits on a C-segment platform with independent rear suspension, despite competing against B-segment crossovers.
This alone has allowed Subaru to create class-leading ride and handling characteristics. But the new XV’s our winner for other reasons too. It’s still got that classic Subaru interior build quality, and its chassis and powertrain are both significantly improved over its predecessor. Add a dash of good styling and decent pricing and what you have is well… crossover of the year.
