The brand has been re-introduced in Malaysia 4 times and still it lacks any positive future. Sales are low, consumer interest remain low and Malaysian partners (past and present) have lost millions in their investment. Only the Colorado pickup truck remains on sale. No other models.
So, it is quite clear that the Malaysian partnerships are not the issue at hand and more the American parent. Yes, Chevrolet USA is losing ground in all countries in Asia as they continue their arrogance in thinking Asians car buyers will accept 3rd world products and high prices. Even in Thailand where they were once a top seller, their market share has eroded sharply in recent years. Chevrolet needs to eat some humble pie and work closer with their ASEAN partners, failing which the brand will disappear and current Chevrolet owners will continue to fend for themselves to keep their expensive metal running.
Chevrolet recently introduced the restyled 2019 Cruze with a more premium appearance that enhances its on-road presence and strengthens its value for customers. The updates for 2019 position Cruze to continue its success in the compact car segment in markets outside of ASEAN only.
The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze’s front fascia and grilles are all-new. Revised grille designs reinforce Cruze’s premium appearance. In the Premier trim, Chevrolet’s signature dual-element tail lamps now feature LED accent lighting, which adds to this Cruze’s sculptural beauty.
Yes, it does looks good and the new styling would go down well with Malaysian buyers…..BUT we think Malaysians and even ASEAN nations should ignore the brand until they start easting humble pie and work closely with their partners.
