This small futuristic SUV is ready to take on the soon to arrive BMW X2, Volvo XC40 and Mercedes-Benz GLA and if Lexus maintains the concept car looks it might just be the most sought after crossover in coming years.
The UX will be powered by a mix of internal combustion engine and traditional hybrid powertrains. The UX will share engines with lower-end NX SUV models and the best selling CT hatchback. It is thought that the UX would replace the CT.
Obviously some of the features of the production car will be toned down from those of the concept; the large, however the brand’s spiky design language of recent models suggests that many of the concept’s wild, spiky lines will be carried over and the spindle grille, a divisive and idiosyncratic feature in the Lexus line-up, is sure to stay, too. More will be shared in the coming week.
