BMW promises 40 new or revised models from 2018, as well new drivetrain tech and autonomous systems”
Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW AG, Harald Kruger, who just released a statement on Bimmer’s upcoming product plans for the 2019 model year.
Kruger’s statement launches with a few interesting tidbits on BMW’s focus for the next year or so, including the promise of further electrified “i” models, plus the declaration that “2018 will be the year of the X” with a double-down approach on moving BMW’s successful SUV line.
More concretely, 2018 will also include the release of two critical models in the “luxury” segment, the M8 and X7. Kruger had this to say about the brand’s luxury crossovers and SUVs: “The segment is growing in all major global regions. That is why I call 2018 the year of the “X”! The cool X2 in the compact segment and the X7 in the luxury class are great examples.”
