Perodua is working with Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) to supply basic items such as food, medicine, hygiene products and other necessities to the victims of the current floods in Penang.
In addition, Perodua is also committing its volunteers for post-flood clean-up and restoration efforts.
“Perodua wishes to contribute in alleviating the suffering from the floods. We are working closely with MKN to identify how we can make the best impact towards improving the conditions of the flood victims,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
“We are now gathering volunteers among our staff to be dispatched up north by this weekend or latest by early next week to assist in the cleaning up activities and other post-flood related activities,” he said.
Perodua has 12 sales showrooms and 13 (including 2 Perodua Body & Paint Hub) service outlets in Penang. Overall Perodua has a total of 600 staff in the state which consist of both direct employees as well as those under its authorised sales and service dealerships of which the majority of the outlets were affected of the recent flood.
We have given an initial support to our staff of RM500 cash and additional amount of up to RM3,000 depending on the extent of the damage to their houses plus other assistance such as providing medical supplies, clean and drinkable water, blankets and other essentials.
Previously, Perodua offered assistance to its customers in the form of discounts on selected parts, partially subsidised tow services to our service workshop and free inspections to their damaged vehicles to determine the amount of damage done to the vehicle.

“Our hearts and sympathies go to those who have lost loved ones and those affected by this unfortunate disaster,” he said.
