Shell Takes Malaysian MotoGP to New Heights

Shell Malaysia took this year’s Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix race to new heights, converting the Shell Hillstand into a 1 kilometre carnival in celebration of its title sponsorship for 2017, a title held in eight of the past nine races. The event saw 20,000 MotoGP fans visiting the Shell Hillstand for an adrenaline-packed race, with thousands more sharing their excitement on the Shell Live platform.

Across the weekend, avid MotoGP fans were treated to a unique experience at the Shell Hillstand, overlooking Turn 13 and 14 of the Sepang International Circuit (SIC). Along with two large LED screens running a live feed of the race, the Shell Hillstand offered fans clear views of the track, where they witnessed the Ducati Team clinch a 1-2 podium finish at this year’s Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Visitors to the Shell Hillstand were greeted by a display of 136 Ducati bikes on race day, and got to enjoy a wide range of experiential activities for the whole family across the weekend, including ample food and beverages, and attractive prizes ranging from local clothing brand Empayar KUKUBESI to Oakley merchandise.

Additionally, more than 500 bikers experienced the Shell Advance difference first-hand with the Shell Advance Ride Thru Mobile Oil Change service in the P1 carpark. Those who purchased Shell Advance Ultra, AX7 or AX5 Scooter oil enjoyed a free oil change service and free parking along with other gifts.

“The Shell Hillstand was designed with race enthusiasts in mind, offering them a unique experience where fans can feel the excitement of the Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix. Our success here encourages us to continue pushing boundaries, and we hope to offer an even better race experience in the years to come,” said Datuk Iain Lo, Country Chairman of Shell Malaysia.
