Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase with ‘Manufacture’

This new Slimline Moonphase houses a brand new ‘Manufacture’ movement which is in-house designed, produced and assembled by Frederique Constant.

Manufacture

Since 2004, Frederique Constant creates its own calibers, entirely in-house designed, produced and assembled. This was an important step to becoming more independent and having more control over the production line, improve quality and accelerate product delivery.  In May 2017, the brand announced the expansion of their current Manufacture located in Plan-les-Ouates. This decision was based on the sole purpose of accommodating the growing interest in the Manufacture movements. In-house calibers have become a trademark of Frederique Constant and its loyal followers appreciate every single one of them. Therefore, it comes to no surprise that CEO, Peter Stas, decided to expand their current building in order to double their production capabilities as well as manpower to be able to satisfy their ever-so hungry fan-base. The new Manufacture will propel Frederique constant into a future of opportunities, a new era of exploring new technical innovations while upholding the Swiss excellence of watchmaking tradition.

The New FC-702 Movement

The Slimline Moonphase Manufacture harbors the Manufacture movement FC-702. The newest addition to the list of 24 in-house calibers is based on the iconic moonphase movement from Frederique Constant. It has been redesigned in order to split the moonphase and date in to two new counters, both functions adjustable through the crown. The movement shows off the famous Perlage and Côtes de Genève decorations present in all Frederique Constant in-house calibers. It took the brand’s R&D department and watchmakers two years to perfect the movement and introduce it to the market.

The Watch

The timepiece offers two dial variations: silver-colored and black and comes in either rose gold-plated or polished stainless steel. The 38.8mm 3 parts-case case holds a convex sapphire crystal and see-though case back revealing the inner workings of the FC-702 caliber, and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The two counters for the moonphase and date are located at three and nine o’clock, respectively. The elegant curved dial merges seamlessly with the case showcasing hand-applied indexes and hand-polished hands. The dark brown or black alligator strap completes the look.

With the Slimline Moonphase Manufacture, Frederique Constant carries on the tradition of flawlessly marrying fine watchmaking with intricate technical prowess.
