On Wednesday, September 20th 2017, the Montblanc TimeWalker Collection was reintroduced at Slate @ The Row, Kuala Lumpur. The experience emanated the evolution of Montblanc timepieces; a journey that defines a legacy of precision and a pursuit of perfection, inspired by performance. This encapsulates the essence of the TimeWalker Collection.
The Montblanc TimeWalker Collection draws inspiration from the golden days of motor racing, revisiting the bond between exhilarating races and the instruments of victory. The evening was decked to celebrate the glory days of sportsmanship and motor racing, as an ultimate reminder that victory can only be judged by true and accurately timed results.
Rooted from Minerva’s legendary history, the Montblanc TimeWalker Collection symbolises the Minerva Manufacture of producing high-quality instruments for measuring brief intervals of time with remarkable precision. A perfect example of this was featured at the event, the iconic TimeWalker Chronograph Rally Timer Counter Limited Edition, a stopwatch inspired by the original Minerva chronograph, which was created to time motor racing with precision.
“The Montblanc TimeWalker Collection encapsulates legendary timing instruments of the Minerva heritage, combining timing precision and perfection, reminiscing the glory days of racing with its vintage-contemporary detailed aesthetics designed for modern performers who like to express their achievements, ambitions, masculinity, style and personality in their choice of wristwatch,” explained Grace Lim, General Manager of Montblanc Malaysia.
The Museum pieces of Minerva’s legendary stopwatches and Rally Timer were also featured at the event; from the very first Minerva Stopwatch 1/5th of a second, to the Minerva Stopwatch 1/100th of a second and Minerva Stopwatch Rally Timer, exhibiting how the Minerva Manufacture created a benchmark in the field of horological innovation, with numerous patents registered over the years in the domain of precision timers, creating a legacy of savoir-faire.
With timing precision comes alleviated readability; where the Montblanc TimeWalker Collection encompasses the Super-Luminova® treatment, merged with a composite material for utmost visibility day and night, for maximum readability.
Also featured at the event was a visual representation of the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500, where every TimeWalker timepiece has to be rigorously tested by simulating intense real-life wear for over 500 hours, for utmost reliability and performance. The timepieces are subjected to a variety of conditions a watch must endure when worn on the wrist to ensure it remains a lifetime companion: daily life’s wear and tear, numerous settings and re-settings of the crown, different climate conditions, performance tests, the everyday use of all its functions.
The featured collection for the evening included the Montblanc TimeWalker Date Automatic, Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph Automatic, Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph UTC, and the Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph Rally Timer Counter Limited Edition 100.
