Mercedes GLC 200 Test Driven In Kota Kinabalu

I’ve been to Kota Kinabalu many a times before and everytime I go there I make it a point to visit Mount Kinabalu Park. A must. I like it there especially the drive up.

I’ve been up there by van, bus, motorcycle, pick-up trucks and all kinds of SUVs. I love them all. Until now. That was before I tried the Mercedes Benz SUVs. On the first day I was using the Mercedes Benz GLC 250 and on the second day the GLC 200 which was by the way launched on Monday 28 August 2017 at the Hap Seng Star Kota Kinabalu.

It is exactly what the ads and those at Mercedes Benz said it was, and then some.

Driving the GLC 200

What I like best about it? The ride. It drives like it was floating through the clouds. Solid like a tank but smooth as the clouds. The pick-up is awesome. Great for overtaking. Luxurious and safe and the most difficult of traits for them to achieve until now … style. This one is stylish … for sure.

I grew up with Mercedes Benz. My late father was a government officer and back then the official cars were Mercedes and ever since then, I always linked Mercedes with old people. Even all of my late fathers friends drove Mercedes. Driving it was like driving a taxi. The car is tough, strong and they last forever. Reliable any time any day but not very fast and boring.

That was then. It’s different now. The first one that change my mind about Mercedes was the new A Class. Especially the AMG A45. That’s the game changer. It’s fast and it’s young and the price. It’s not cheap but it’s not ridiculously expensive.

For all ages now

Finally, they have managed to change the stigma of their cars are for old people. Many young executives now are actually yearning for these cars and in time will actually buy the Mercedes Benz A Class series and now, the Mercedes Benz GL series.

With the RM288,888.00 price tag, I’m pretty sure many ‘up and coming’ young executives will be looking at the all new Mercedes Benz GLC 200.

Can you afford it?

Mercedes-Benz Financial has very attractive financing offers available for the SUV variants. Finance the new GLC 200 (CKD) at RM2,888* per month and for the GLC 250 4MATIC (CKD) at RM3,258* per month. The monthly instalments are calculated based on 3 years’ tenure under Agility Financing, 20,000km mileage per annum with a down payment of 20.34%. *Terms and conditions apply.
