Having distributed Kia vehicles since 1996, Naza Kia Malaysia aims to strengthen its presence in the country with improved after sales service and more exciting products for the rest of 2017 and 2018.
The Naza Group has invested in excess of RM1 billion which include investment in a manufacturing plant in Gurun, Kedah and the extensive sales and service network.
To date, there are 54 Kia outles located in major markets in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. Of these 54 outlets, five are Kia Red Cube outlets located in Petaling Jaya, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Rawang and Tampoi in Johor Bahru.
Investment into the Red Cube concept alone was in the region of RM75 million and Malaysia was among the first markets in ASEAN to incorporate this, with five Red Cubes in major market centres across the country.
In 2016, investment into network expansion was in the region of RM25 million. In 2017 and 2018, Naza Kia is aggressively aiming to enhance its network presence in East Malaysia, where at least eight new outlets will be started.
As for products, the company confirmed that it will expand its line up with three new models next year. One of the offerings could be the new Picanto GT Line, which was exclusively previewed at the Kia Red Cube Johor Bahru showroom.
The third generation model shown here has all the bells and whistles, including a full bodykit consisting of new bumper design, side skirts as well as a rear diffuser. Completing its sporty looks are 16-inch two-tone wheels.
As before, the Korean-spec hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated with a four-speed automatic transmission. Specifications for the Malaysian market have yet to be confirmed, but expect the Picanto to miss some of the equipment when it makes its official launch here.
