At Gaikindo, we got a look at a pretty substantial range of Chevrolet vehicles. The one that stood out the most was the Trax. It’s an inexpensive, stylish, functional compact crossover.
Nothing fancy, but we couldn’t help but feel that it would attract a small following if brought into Malaysia. At the Gaikindo Auto Show, we noticed that the car was constantly surrounded by men and women in their 30s.
The Trax comes in a range of small engines, including a 1.4 turbo, as well as 1.6 and 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines. A 6-speed automatic is available.
The design is modern and chic, plus there’s little functional features like a bike rack option and a flat folding seat mechanism that expands the Trax’s usability.
Do you think the Trax will do well in Malaysia? Perhaps the Philippines and Indonesia provide volume sales that makes more sense to GM.
