Ducati has just unveiled the 2014 Diavel line-up consisting of no less 4 trims: Diavel, Dark, Strada and Carbon.
The standard version comes with two new liveries in blue and red, with large, classic racing stripes adorning the massive tank and the tail section and adding a bit of old-school racing looks to the otherwise, “brutally” contemporary machine.
All 4 version of the Diavel are powered by the Corse-derived Testastretta 11° v-twin which is good for 162hp and 127.5Nm of torque, mated to a precise and sharp ride by wire throttle system. The slipper clutch is a great feature as it offers a self-servo action when accelerating which allows a lighter clutch for the same plate pressure, and which also reduces the destabilizing effect during hard engine brakes.
While the Diavel dark is a bike for those in search for an all-blacked-out beast, the Carbon version shaves off some weight thanks to the multiple carbon fiber bodywork parts. Truly sweet to see Ducati maintaining the Strada trim, a nifty set of optional accessories which transform the 2014 Diavel into a more touring-worthy muscle bike. This includes heated grips, fixed pillion rider footpegs, luggage system with integrated grab rails and a dedicated backrest for the passenger.
Diavel Strada riders will enjoy the new and broader windscreen which blends into the bike’s lines. The riding position ergonomics have also changed: the new 2014 Diavel Strada comes with a touring seat, while the bars have been raised by 15mm and moved back by 60mm. Add in traction control, ABS, 12V outlets and many more.
