The VW Golf R, a hot hatch with understated looks, but serious power under the bonnet has been updated under the bonnet, visually and inside the cabin but we have word that it is not planned for Malaysia until further notice. This is of course disappointing as this hot hatch has 306bhp (up 9bhp) and has 379Nm of torque. The additional power this car has reduces the 0-100km/h sprint time down from 4.8 seconds to 4.6 seconds.
Also, this Golf R has an updated interior with a new infotainment screen and all-digital dials like its big brother the Passat.
The exterior has been slightly tweaked with new bumpers and sharp LED lights give it a fresher, more masculine stance.
This Golf R competes directly the (currently sold in Malaysia) Mercedes A45 AMG with 381bhp…..(pictured below).
and the (not sold in Malaysia new……limited to gray importers) BMW M140i with 355bhp.
