Bermaz Motor, the official importer and distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia, has officially launched the awaited Mazda MX-5 RF. Compared to the roadster which was only available with an automatic, the retractable hardtop variant is offered in automatic and manual versions.
Both versions share the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder SkyActiv-G mill that churns out 158 hp at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The output is then channeled towards the rear axle.
The MX-5 RF comes with a myriad of standard equipment including front and rear LED lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, push start button, adjustable steering wheel with tilt function, as well as paddle shifters for the automatic.
Additionally, the car is also equipped with a 4.6-inch full-colour TFT gauge, a 7-inch Mazda Connect touchscreen and a nine-speaker Bose audio system with integrated headrest-mounted speakers.
Standard driver assistance systems include Traction Control, Lane Departure Warning System, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, i-Eloop, and Dynamic Stability Control.
The new MX-5 RF is available in four colour choices; Soul Red Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Machine Grey and Jet Black. Selling price inclusive of insurance starts from RM242,717 for the manual and RM248,182 for the automatic.
