0ZERO Engineering Motorcycles and Ruby Helmets Now in Malaysia
Japan’s renowned custom-made motorcycle manufacturer, Zero Engineering, marks its first ever presence in the Malaysian market with a preview of its “samurai choppers” lineup.
Established in 1992 by famed custom bike builder, Shinya Kimura in Okazaki, Zero Engineering is known for its uncompromising style, beauty and attention to detail. It boasts a high-profile client base which includes David Beckham, Brad Pitt and even Tony Stark from the Iron Man franchise.
The company currently offers three different types of samurai choppers, namely the Type-5, Type-6 and Type-9i, with engines sourced from S&S Cycles. With rigid chassis and modern engineering, the Type-5 and Type-6 stay true to their predecessors while delivering modern reliability and performance. The Type-9i blends style and performance with its classic rigid looks and the exclusive multi-link suspension.
Each bike produced at Zero Engineering takes several months to complete, reflecting the commitment invested in each production. What signifies the design is traced in the “Zero Style”, the signature goose neck and dragon neck frames that match perfectly with the springer front end.
“Production is severely limited because of the amount of detail work. That also makes the bikes very expensive. Each of our motorcycles is completely handmade, taking several months to complete,” said Kondo Yoshimitsu, President of Plot Inc.
Zero Engineering motorcycles are imported by Didi Resources Sdn Bhd, which appointed Stronghold Cycles Sdn Bhd as their official dealer. Zero Engineering’s flagship 3S centre is set to open its doors at The Gasket Alley in Petaling Jaya, a lifestyle hub that will house several motorcycle brands, apparels and gears.
The special preview event also saw the release of Ruby Helmets, which is brought in by Working Class Heroes, a luxury motorcycle accessories store located in Bandar Sunway.
Combining functionality, comfort, lightweight and state-of-the-art technology, the helmets feature an outer shell made of carbon fibre and fibreglass layers, and ventilation ducts on the inner shell. On top of that, all fixing elements are made of titanium and aluminium for utmost safety. Pricing starts from RM3,500.
