San Francisco-based Alta Motors is one those dedicated startups trying to make electric motorcycle happen. The Redshift ST is its third and newest offering after the Redshift SM and Redshift MX. The bike will be introduced at the upcoming The One Moto Show in Oregon.
Compared to the SM and MX which come in the forms of supermoto and motocross respectively, the Redshift ST is essentially a street-legal version of a flat-track racing machine, or simply a street-tracker. It employs the same aluminium subframe lowered to bring the seat height to 31.5 inches, lower than that of the SM (35.5 inches) and MX (37 inches).
The chassis is combined with WP suspension, LED headlights as well as 19-inch carbon-fibre BSR wheels wrapped in flat-track rubbers.
No mention of the drivetrain but we expect the Redshift ST to feature the same electric motor with 40 hp and 162 Nm and a 5.8-kWh battery pack. A single charge will take the bike as far as 80 km, with a top speed of around 128 km/h.
