Here is an All-New Impreza and the very first Subaru model to employ the revolutionary Subaru Global Platform. Watch any Subaru advertisement on TV and the current popular Subaru models like the XV, Forestor and even STI’s are seen taking on the rough and abuse with ease and right after they are brought back into the city, washed and driven gingerly in city limits. This is the true testament of the Subaru all wheel drive system and its after sales and warranty system that promises an enjoyable ownership experience.
Now comes the 5th generation All-New Impreza and this car promises even more on road and off road enjoyment and stability with an all new Subaru Global Platform, which will be the architecture for all future Subaru models. It has recently been honoured with the much-coveted title of 2016-2017 Japan Car of the Year.
Drivers of the All-New Impreza are empowered with confidence as a result of the combination of Subaru’s Boxer Engine, All-Wheel Drive and safety features like the Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection (SRVD) and Steering Responsive Headlights; these are all underpinned by the new Subaru Global Platform. This unique combination ensures that drivers of the All-New Impreza enjoys an elevated driving experience, with significantly less vibration and noise and precise control over the vehicle at all times.
“The All-New Subaru Impreza features the new Subaru Global Platform that is engineered to make a new type of driving possible. With a host of improvements to its interior, styling, handling performance and an improved CVT transmission, the new Impreza is set to be the first to pave the way for the next generation of Subaru vehicles to deliver a superior driving experience like no other,” said Mr Glenn Tan, Executive Director, Tan Chong International Ltd.

Subaru takes upmost pride in safety and its safety performance has continuously been highly rated by independent third-party organisations such as NCAP and IIHS. The All-New Subaru Impreza has surpassed expectations to achieve an even higher level of active and passive safety with the new Subaru Global Platform.
In addition to major improvements in the structural rigidity and suspension system, the new platform achieves a centre of gravity that is 5mm lower than present models. The lower centre of gravity offers outstanding hazard avoidance through sharper, more responsive steering which enhances the vehicle’s active safety capabilities.
Passive safety in the Impreza has also been improved as a result of the new Subaru Global Platform’s frame structure, with enhanced body strength resulting from an increased use of high-tensile steel. This enables improved energy absorption in the event of collision by 40 per cent over present models.
Steering Responsive Headlights are fitted on the All-New Impreza which will allow the headlight beam to move according to the direction of how the car is steered, maximising dusk visibility and safety.
