Spaniard and rally legend Carlos Sainz has suffered a very serious crash just five kilometres from the end of the 4th stage of the grueling rally when he spectacularly lost control of his Peugeot 3008 DKR and rolled off of the road, narrowly avoiding some spectators.
Sainz has in the past scored 27 Dakar stage victories since 2006 and this time it was just bad luck as he pushed a little too hard to make up for lost time lost during some navigational errors earlier in the race.
