Honda Malaysia will very soon unveil its new soon to be best selling 2017 model, the Honda BR-V. This 7-seat compact vehicle is already selling well in Indonesia, India, Philippines and even Thailand.
The Honda BR-V is a new generation Crossover Utility Vehicle which features the combination of bold, sporty appearance and handling of a SUV together with great utility and spacious cabin with 7 seats for the whole family. The dimensions of the seven-seater BR-V (2+3+2 configuration) are as follows: 4,456 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, 1,666 mm in height, 2,660 mm in wheelbase. Set to be the spacious SUV in the segment, it will have a class-leading ground clearance of 201 mm.
The Honda BR-V will feature a host of advanced interior equipment including the Push Button Start with Smart Entry, Integrated Bluetooth Audio System with Hands Free Telephone (HFT) and Steering mounted controls for Audio, Automatic Air Conditioner and Power Foldable ORVMs to provide more convenience for the consumers. The Multi Information Display (MID) allows the driver to monitor all important trip and vehicle information including Driving Range, Instantaneous and Average Fuel Efficiency, Ambient Temperature and Time. Further, an Eco lamp provides feedback to the driver during fuel-efficient driving.
The BR-V is fitted with “Paddle Shift” in the CVT variant which means it provides the convenience of a full automatic gearbox with enhanced driving pleasure of a manual.
Through Honda’s man maximum machine minimum philosophy, the BR-V offers impressive levels of interior space and versatility. The BR-V will probably be launched in two variants, namely, the entry-level 1.5 S CVT and the top-of-the-line 1.5 V Navi CVT. The BR-V will probably come equipped with Dual SRS Air Bags as Standard offering across variants, along with host of other active and passive safety features.
The BR-V’s 1.5L i-VTEC Petrol Engine will deliver maximum power of 119 PS@ 6,600 rpm, maximum torque of 145 Nm @4,600 rpm and best in class economy of 16-km/l in CVT auto mode. Pricing? We estimate the selling of the BR-V to be in the same price region as the Honda City.
Developed exclusively for the Asian market by Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co. Ltd, the much-awaited Honda BR-V is scheduled to be launched in Malaysia this year.
