The 6th round of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific took place once again at Sepang International circuit. The weekend at Sepang proved to be another challenging one, as Malaysia enters its monsoon season that promises a significant amount of rainfall, setting up the perfect stage for a penultimate round. After completing one wet and one dry qualifying session each for both races, the Ferrari one-make series was closely fought by the protagonists in a bid to earn more points before they head to Finali Mondiali.

Twenty five 458 Challenge cars took to the track, battling it out against each other on the Malaysian track and against the weather, with dark clouds looming in the background with the possibility of rain, throwing cautions to some on the Malaysian track.

Max Blancardi completed both legs of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific unchallenged, while crossing the finish line ahead of the other classes in the first leg.

In race 1 of the Trofeo Pirelli, Thailand’s Pasin Lathouras crossed the line for a hat-trick win, showing tremendous pace ahead of Philipe Prette (Hong Kong) and Angelo Negro (Hong Kong). In the second leg, Lathouras took the victory laurels once again after a great start, which then saw him run unchallenged to the finish in first overall, making it his fourth win in a row in the Ferrari Challenge Asia Challenge. He finished ahead of Steve Wyatt (Australia) and Ringo Chong (Singapore).

For the Coppa Shell, Race 1 saw the win go to Indonesia’s David Tjiptobiantoro, after a consistent race that saw him crossing the line ahead of Eric Cheung (Canada) and Gregory Teo (Singapore). In the second leg, Indonesia’s David Tjiptobiantoro crosses the line once again, claiming his second victory in the Coppa Shell. Finishing in second was Paul van Leonhout (Australia), while Eric Cheung (Singapore) completes the podium for Race 2.

Pasin Lathouras also won both races of the GT Asia 2013 Series Round 4 that happened alongside in the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, marking a complete domination of the GT3 class in the race weekend.

As the penultimate round comes to a close at Sepang, the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific will head to Finali Mondiali happening at Autodromo Internazionale Del Mugello on the 7th to 10th November.
