To demonstrate the precision of Honda’s Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive on the new NSX, the company took to the El Mirage salt flats of California. There, they recreated the ‘Hummingbird’ geoglyph that was originally created between 500B.C. and 500A.D. in the Nazca Desert in Peru.
While the original geoglyph was about 93 meters long, Honda’s ‘supersized’ version measures at about 10 times the size. The intricate design incorporates more than 30 hairpin turns. Two electric motors driving the front axle meant the NSX could execute the exceptionally tight turns by slowing the inner wheel in sharp corners while increasing the drive on the outer wheel.
