Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today proudly presents two new and very exciting models, joining its illustrious Dream Cars Collection. As the inventor of the automobile, Mercedes-Benz continues to break the boundaries in all areas of the industry by presenting two more of its fine artistic developments to the Malaysian market.
The all-new C-Class Cabriolet: Captivating, the object of desire.
The new C-Class Cabriolet is authentic, powerful and vibrant. A new addition to the Mercedes-Benz convertibles, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet combines the classic Mercedes strength with everything that makes open-top driving so enjoyable. It exhibits a true independence of character with a visibly sporty expression and youthfully fresh appeal.
Its tightly stretched soft top with glass window transitions harmoniously into the distinctively styled rear end, which has a highly sporty look with its wide shoulders and flat LED tail lights. With a capacity of 360 litres (285 litres with the roof open), the boot is capable of holding an exceptional amount of luggage for a convertible, thus offering high everyday practicality.
At the sides, an elongated dropping line extending over the rear wheel arch lends an emphasis typical of Mercedes-Benz design. Thanks to the suspension lowered by 15 millimetres compared to the Saloon, the vehicle is already at sports level, emphasising the sporty nature of the Cabriolet which shines aerodynamically with a Cd figure of 0.28.
The fully automatic classic cabriolet fabric soft top comes in black in the basic variant, or is optionally available with a multi-layer acoustic soft top in dark brown, dark blue, dark red or black. It significantly reduces the wind/driving noise. This is made noticeable in the form of improved speech intelligibility, including at high speeds, and better insulation from disruptive ambient noise. The acoustic soft top thus offers optimal climate comfort, quiet-running characteristics and full all-year suitability.
The soft top can be opened and closed in 20 seconds, and at speeds of up to 50 km/h. After opening, it folds down quietly and precisely and is stored in the soft-top compartment in the boot.
The suspension offers a high level of comfort with low road roar and tyre vibration characteristics, while ensuring agile driving dynamics – the basis for driving enjoyment. The suspension on the Cabriolet, which is 15 millimetres lower in comparison with the sedan, comes as standard in the C 200 Cabriolet with steel springs and a selective damping system. Sport suspension with firmer springing and damping, including the Sports Direct-Steer system, are available in the C 250 Cabriolet and C 300 Cabriolet for even more agile handling.
DYNAMIC SELECT lets the driver choose how the journey should be: sporty, comfortable or fuel-efficient.
Three petrol variants with a 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine are available for the Cabriolet; 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine C 200 rated at 135kW (184hp), C 250 at 155kW (211hp) and C 300 rated at 180kW (245hp). The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is available for all variants.
Intuitive operation with animations and visual effects is offered by the infotainment system in the new C-Class Cabriolet. Frontbass ensures a listening experience almost on a par with a concert hall – especially with the Burmester® sound system, in the C 300 Cabriolet. The Frontbass system uses the space within the cross-member and side member in the body structure as a resonance chamber for the bass speakers.

The new generation SLC: Unleash your senses
The SLC from Mercedes-Benz is a roadster with a dynamic and sporty design. Pure driving pleasure comes from an unrivalled combination of sportiness and comfort. The cult roadster further underlines its sporty presence. As part of the facelift, the Mercedes-Benz designers have further honed the cult roadster’s sporty look. The new front section, where the steeply raked radiator grille elongates the appearance of the arrow-shaped bonnet, is particularly striking. All SLC models feature a diamond radiator grille as standard. Its interior, post facelift, has an even higher-quality look. Highlights include new light (standard) or dark aluminium trim parts with a carbon-fibre finish. The instrument cluster has a new design too.
The SLC’s vario-roof combines open-top driving pleasure with uncompromised comfort in poor weather. Operating the electrohydraulic roof is now even more straightforward. If while the roof is opening or closing the vehicle has to move off due to the traffic conditions, the process which was started when at a standstill can be continued up to a speed of approx. 40 km/h.
Another new feature is the semi-automatic boot separator in conjunction with the vario-roof convenience feature or KEYLESS-GO: if the separator is in the upper position for increased boot capacity, it automatically moves down when the roof is opened.
A feature that continues to be unique to the SLC is the panoramic vario-roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL, available in the SLC 300 – this glass roof is lightened or darkened at the touch of a button.
This means that it provides an open-air feeling at any time, but when required gives welcome shade under a hot sun.
The classic strengths of the SLC also include its well-designed boot with the highest capacity in this segment – at 335 litres. Two model variants are available at launch. The SLC 200 with an output of 135 kW (184 hp) and the SLC 300 with 180 kW (245 hp), both of which feature a 2-litre four-cylinder engine.
