The Alfa Romeo MiTo is 8 years old and without a new model in sight as promised by boss Sergio Marchionne. Now we see a facelift for the 8-year old MiTo to freshen it up and give it some of the looks of the new Giulia which is still pending a right hand driver version for our market.
The usual lights and bumpers facelift applies to the MiTo, with a sports grille, darkened lights and new alloys, as well as a new paint option – Alfa White.
Inside there’s new upholstery for the seats, Uconnect Live, new finishes and a MiTo badge using the same font as the new Giulia badge.
Trim levels get a tweak, with the entry-level Mito called MiTo (that must have taken months of committees to decide on), the MiTo Super and the MiTo Speciale, with the MiTo Veloce at the top of the range.
This MiTo gets 16″ alloys, satin chrome exterior detailing, Air Con, 5″ Uconnect with Bluetooth and DAB and a rear spoiler. The range-topping Veloce gets 18″ alloys, Alfa Active Suspension, Brembo Brakes, touchscreen UIconnect with Sat Nav and twin chrome exhausts.
Engine range includes a 77bhp 1.4 litre petrol, 104bhp 875cc TwinAir, 94bhp 1.3 JTDM-2 and the 168bhp 1.4 MultiAir. Still no confirmation on a new Alfa Romeo brand guardian for Malaysia which means this car will not be arriving here anytime soon.
