Mitsubishi has issued a statement which would lead us to believe they are quite happy with the 4-star safety rating received from Euro NCAP after conducting crash tests.
“These are excellent results, better than those of Mirage direct competitors and consistent with Mitsubishi Motors’ engineering objectives within the technical constraints (packaging) of these small upper-A/lower-B-Segment cars,” the automaker says.
The Mirage which has had sales success here in Asia received 90% for adult occupant protection, 72% for child occupant protection, 73% for pedestrian protection and 55% for safety assist. The reason the car didn’t get a 5-star rating is because it didn’t meet the 65% minimum for safety assist.
