Ford today announced June retail sales in Malaysia rose 32 percent from May to 928 units.
The June performance was driven by continued strength in demand for the ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ranger pickup. June was the strongest month for Ranger sales this year, with sales increasing 35 percent from May to 796 units, helping drive first half Ranger sales to 3,539 units.
The class-defining Ranger pickup is the most capable truck in Malaysia, with the ability to wade through water up to 800mm deep, along with outstanding towing and payload capabilities. Ranger’s safety package is also unmatched, including up to six airbags and driver assistance technologies like Lane Keeping Aid and Adaptive Cruise Control. Ford’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and standard ISOFIX child safety mounts.
“The Ranger has truly redefined the pickup market in Malaysia, and many customers are happily using it as both a workhorse and a leisure vehicle,” said David Westerman, managing director, Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.
Sales of the all-new Ford Mustang also kicked off in June. The iconic Mustang pony car is an epitome of vintage and style, and is available with two engine options – the turbo-charged 2.3- litre EcoBoost and powerful 5.0-litre V8.
