P1660703

With over nine hours of racing in the bag till this point, a test of man and machine will truly be put to the challenge as MMER 2013 winds down to its final few hours. Heat and fatigue will undoubtedly play a point as temperatures are beginning to rise at Sepang putting more stress on the both man and machine as teams focus on making their final charge towards the chequered flag at noon.

So far six teams in the Touring Production category have retired in the race. Teams that have currently recorded DNFS on the sheets include Fawster Motorsport , Type R Racing Team (Honda Civic FD2), two cars from Team ST Powered (Honda Civic Type R), N1 Racing Team (Honda Integra Type R) and privateers Jim Hunter, Gavin Bullas and Grant Johnson (Subaru Impreza STI).

In the GT3 Category, it appears to be race over for one of the Petronas Syntium Cars as the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 driven by Thomas Jager/Lucas Wolf/Luca Ludwig is currently sitting in the team’s garage after sustaining technical issues earlier this morning. As the morning progresses, Bernd Schneider/Jono Lester/Dominic Ang and their Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3 is also out of the race.
