There were a few eye-catching previews at the My Auto Fest 2016, but the real highlight for us was finding this Volkswagen Passat B8 just sitting in the car park.
It had no number plate on because it was a JPJ test car. We guess that means they didn’t have to worry about AES speed cameras.
We’re not certain if this is the exact spec that Volkswagen Malaysia plans to offer the Passat B8 in, but if it is, expect 18″ rims that look THIS good:
Over at the rear, still no license plate, but off what’s this?
It’s still a little difficult to make out, but the badge on the right hand side spells 380TSI. The ‘380’ here denotes the amount of torque the engine outputs – 380Nm in the case of the 2-litre TSI. There’s also a 330TSI which has a smaller 1.8-litre engine.
Over on the inside we see a nice mix of metal and wood inlays – again this might not be the version of the Passat Volkswagen Malaysia ends up actually selling.
From what we can gather, the B8 will go on sale in the second half of 2016 and will be manufactured in Pekan.
