Shell Rimula is set to further strengthen its market leadership position as the best-selling heavy duty diesel engine oil (HDDEO) brand in the world and Malaysia with a completely new range of products and a new enhanced flagship fully synthetic product, which all come in newly redesigned packaging.
As the new improved flagship fully synthetic product that is a part of an enhanced portfolio, the new Shell Rimula R6 LM 10W-40 fully synthetic HDDEO now features Shell’s unique Dynamic Protection Plus Technology.
Dynamic Protection Plus Technology combines Shell’s proprietary PurePlus Technology, which produces an ultra-clean base oil made from natural gas, and Adaptive Additive Technology to deliver excellent all-weather protection, longer engine life, extended oil drain intervals, and reduced fuel consumption, all of which ultimately helps customers to lower the total cost of ownership.
This latest innovation by Shell enables the new Rimula R6 LM to offer up to 53% better protection against engine wear and deposits, especially cam wear and up to 45% lower oil consumption.
The oil’s upgraded CJ-4 specification now exceeds ACEA, MAN and Mercedes-Benz specifications for engine wear and cleanliness to ensure extended oil drain intervals and lower emissions. Its low SAPs formulation also significantly reduces downtime from clogging of diesel particulate filters by ash. This means that the new Rimula R6 LM is especially recommended for highly rated engines meeting Euro 5 to 6 emission requirements.
Shell Lubricants General Manager – Malaysia & Singapore, Mr Leslie Ng, said that the new enhanced Shell Rimula portfolio once again reflected Shell’s investment in research and development and its desire to offer cutting-edge lubricant products that deliver real and tangible benefits to business operating in an increasingly challenging economic environment.
The launch of the new Shell Rimula R6 LM with Dynamic Protection Plus Technology was timely as high quality Euro 5 specification diesel has become increasingly available in Malaysia. More truck and bus fleet owners could upgrade their vehicles to that equipped with newer and more advanced engines, which in turn, would spur owners to use fully synthetic HDDEOs in order to optimise the fuel efficiency, performance an reliability of their vehicles.
In conjunction with the introduction of the new Shell Rimula portfolio, Shell Lubricants also launched the 2016 edition of the highly popular Shell Rimula Global Promotion. This year, the contest will take eight lucky Grand Prize winners to South Africa for a unique driving challenge.
The contest has been rewarding Shell Rimula customers with money-can’t-buy experiences around the world. Last year’s winners had the opportunity to visit Budapest, Hungary to experience the FIA European Truck Racing championship while the 2014 winners took part in a unique heavy equipment challenge in London.
