You won’t find a short list of videos on the internet that shows off the capabilities of the turbocharged Ferrari 488GTB, but here’s another one anyway. We like it mostly because of its high quality, but also because it is shot in the streets of Barcelona and not (entirely) on a race track. Anyway, you can see the video here:
As you clearly see, it is done by Pennzoil to show off the performance of its full synthetic motor oil with PurePlus Technology. The film depicts a so-called Joyrider, an underground automotive enthusiast, who mysteriously receives a key to a Ferrari 488GTB and proceeds to take the car for an adrenaline-filled drive, first testing the Ferrari’s limits on an empty track and then blasting off into the night towards the city lights for high speed performance and precision driving.
The music tends to get in the way a bit in our opinion, but cranking the volume up does help us appreciate Ferrari’s first force-fed V8.
And if you’re wondering if there’s a ‘star’ driving the 488GTB, well, it is. Rhys Millen is more known as a top drift driver based in the US, but this time around he takes helm of an exotic Italian. You can see him here in the ‘Making of…’ video.
