Baselworld 2016 is on right now and French watch brand Bell & Ross unveiled not only a watch but their own stunning concept vehicle, the Bell & Ross AeroGT. Inspired by aviation and the grand touring cars of the ’50s and ’60s the AeroGT is extremely low (1.10 m) and aerodynamic, the 4.7 meter-long car that seems to split the air like an arrow.
“Every year, in order to create new models, I need new sources of inspiration,” admits Bruno Belamich, our creative director. “Following the success of our B-Rocket motorbike in 2014, I wanted to go even further and design the Bell & Ross car. The aim was to produce a car that can ‘hold its own’, even amongst automotive professionals. But above all, this real challenge was a great joy,” remembers the designer. “The AeroGT concept car was the starting point for the creation of a new pair of watches inspired by the automotive world – the BR 03 AeroGT models.”
Bruno Belamich imagined the car propelled by a 4.2-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, combined with the latest 8-speed automatic gearbox, boasting 610hp, and reaching 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.
To coincide with the AeroGT’s unveiling, Bell & Ross is launched two watches, BR 03-94 AEROGT and BR 03-92 AEROGT. The first one BR 03-94 AEROGT features a satin-polished steel case measuring 42mm; is powered by calibre BR-CAL.319 and comes in limited edition of 500 pieces.
The second model, the BR 03-92 AEROGT, gets a 42mm satin-polished steel case, sapphire with anti-reflective coating and is powered by automatic mechanical calibre BR-CAL.318. l. Both watches include black calfskin stitched with red piping and ultra-resistant black synthetic fabric.
No word on the price of the watches and also the car.
