Honda (Acura) has just revealed an image of a prototype NSX supercar and announced that it will be officially shown at the Honda Indy 200 IndyCar Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Wearing custom graphics, the Honda (Acura) NSX prototype will lap the road course in advance of the race on August 4, 2013 and the race will be broadcasted live by NBC Sports Network starting at 3 p.m. EDT. The running prototype is using a mid-mounted V6 engine bolted to Acura’s innovative new three-motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system. In terms of design, the prototype maintains the styling and proportions of the NSX Concept that was unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. For those who don’t know, the production version of the NSX will be launched in 2015 and the new car will be developed by engineers at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. in Raymond, Ohio. Moreover, it will be produced at the newly established Performance Manufacturing Center in nearby Marysville, Ohio.
