Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, has requested for the replacement of the passenger airbag inflator of 895 Mitsubishi Lancer JT manufactured from September 2004 to April 2006.
Some of the passenger side airbags may release metal fragments when deployed causing injuries to the passenger.
“MMM is taking this initiative to ensure customer safety and regrets the inconvenience caused to all customers. This effort is to enable the replacement of the passenger airbag inflator with newly produced inflators,” said Yang Won-Chul, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.
MMM will issue notification letters to affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the replacement will be borne by the company.
MMM kindly request valued customers to make an appointment at any of our Mitsubishi Motors authorized service centres for the replacement of the above.
