This Light Armoured Patrol Vehicle that was recently spotted near the Arctic Circle as reported by motor1.com. Reportedly based on the Mercedes G 500 4×4 luxury SUV, it is apparently a more extreme version of the G Wagon LAPV 6.1 armored.
Little is known about the SUV but it features a rugged front bumper, recovery hooks, and a snorkel. The model also has side steps, a heavy-duty suspension, and massive wheels with off-road tires. While this particular prototype isn’t equipped with armoured paneling, the production model surely will.
The model should build on the success of the G Wagon LAPV 6.1 armored which billed as an “agile and versatile workhorse with superior off-road capabilities.”
It features portal axles and a four-seat interior. The model can also be equipped with a central tire inflation system and more extensive armoring packages.
Power is provided by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that produces 181 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It is connected to a five-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system which enables the vehicle to hit a top speed of 140 kilometers per hour (87 miles per hour).
