We have ourselves tried to get a used car loan from EON bank but after some wasted effort realized that they like many other banks and finance companies in Malaysia, prefer to deal with new car owners. If you are a used car buyer who walks in or calls in to any of their branches, you are given a run around until you give up and end up working with a used car dealer or ‘friend’ to get your loan ‘looked at’…..not approved yet….. as this way someone somewhere is not benefiting from the infamous ‘football’ money. Best part is……we were a previous EON car finance customer for 4 years with a squeaky clean record (bought the car from a used car dealer and had the EON officer meet us at the dealers office to pick up documents and process the car inspection all in one day……all organised by the car dealer)….but this time around we called in personally, got transferred to various persons and then finally forced to deal with ‘Another’ financial institution where we had an ‘inside’ staff to assist us with the loan……..but when Mohammad Anuar Yusof applied to finance his NEW CAR last year, little did he expect to be taking home a cash prize large enough to buy another new car, courtesy of EON Bank Group’s year-long Super Cash campaign in 2010…..hmmm…. WOW…….new car buyer…..just like we said.
He was simply thinking of enjoying the fastest car loan application turnaround in the country (applies to new cars and used cars with the best ‘friends and used car dealers), the signature feature of EON Bank Group’s AM/PM Hire Purchase package. Nonetheless, Mohammad Anuar’s successful NEW CAR application, which fulfilled the contest eligibility criteria of a loan value of at least RM50,000 and a financing tenure between three to nine years, automatically put him in the running for the attractive cash prizes.
Thus, Mohammad Anuar of Kuala Lumpur is naturally overjoyed to be taking home the Grand Prize of RM88,888. He was joined in his joy by Ahmad Salwan Abdul Wahab, the First Prize winner who won RM28,888 and Lau Chu Lee, the Second Prize winner who took home RM8,888. The second leg of EON Bank’s Super Cash campaign, which ran from July to December 2010 for conventional and Islamic banking customers, also offered 10 Third Prizes of RM1,888 cash each, which went to Syed Husin Syed Mustafa of Nilai, Toria anak Bob of Kuching, Nazrah Jaafar of Seremban, Vijayakumaran Mariappan and Tai Ming Wei of Menglembu, Tan Chia Sern of Pontian, Mah Chui Yee of Kuala Lumpur, Salleh Busra and Mohamed Amir Ngadenan of Melaka, and Fatimahtun Haziyah Haron of Johor Bahru.
