Tata Hexa SUV, This Could Sell In Asia

Tata vehicles do not enjoy a strong presence in Malaysian currently, however with this Hexa SUV thinsg could change. This all new SUV if brought into Malaysia via DRB-Hicom who are currently the franchisee holders for Tata in the country, could be a game changer for the Indian manufacturer.

The Hexa has a flat bonnet with honeycomb grille at the front. The vehicle will come with wide air dam, ORVM integrated with turn mirrors and LED tail lamps. The off-road appeal is accentuated with body cladding and skid plates.

This new crossover measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm width and 1,780 mm height with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. This tough MPV is expected to pack 2.2 litre four-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine, which is re-tuned to generate 154bhp of power and 400Nm of torque either with 6-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission.

The Hexa will come with six captain seats. Inside the cabin, the model will get leather seats, LED illumination and 6-airbags, including side and curtain.

Tata is expected to price the Hexa competitively so as to pit it against Toyota Innova which is the segment best seller in India.

  1. TATA HEXA should sell well in Malaysia,but first DRB should increase the number of 3S centers in the cities of KL & it’s environs, Penang & Johor. This MPV should go head to head with the newly launched Honda BR-V. TATA will need to peg the price point at least MYR 5000 below the BR-V to gain volume. They should also consider an SUV as well.
