PROTON-PETRONAS CO-BRANDING ATF-XP3 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

Proton car owners will now be able to enjoy optimum performance of their Proton cars with the all-new premium quality ATF-XP3 Automatic Transmission Fluid. Jointly-developed by PROTON and national oil company PETRONAS,ATF-XP3 is specially-formulated and extensively field tested for Proton cars. It contains unique friction-modifying properties to provide smoother transmission operation, superior protection against wear and tear, and improved transmission cleanliness. Manufactured from highly refined high viscosity index unconventional base oils and aspecial additives system, ATF-XP3 offers exceptional high and low temperature protection and ensures smooth and shudder-free shift performance under both normal and severe operating conditions, all of which significantly contributes to extending the life of the transmission. 
Launched today, ATF-XP3 is available nationwide and is now the recommended automatic transmission fluid at all authorized PROTON service centres from April 2011 onwards. Approved in accordance with PROTON’s PES-1133 standard, ATF-XP3is recommended for use in automatic transmissions in which Dexron type fluid is not suitable. It is also suitable for use in cars fitted with automatic transmissions equipped with a slip-controlled torque converter where the use of ATF-9 type fluid is specified. Proton Edar Sdn. Bhd Chief Executive Officer Encik Mohamad Shukor Ibrahim, who officiated the launch, said that the ATF-XP3 is the first jointly-developed lubricant base product by PROTON and Petronas since the Collaboration Agreement was signed in 2010.
“This exercise is part of our efforts to continuously improve customer satisfaction, and, we also see this collaboration as means to elevate Malaysian brands. “In the future, customers can also look forward to more products to come from this collaboration, including a jointly-developed engine oil,” he said.
ATF-XP3 is to be used for the following PROTON models and variants fitted with automatic transmission: Saga (1985-2007); New Saga (BLM); Iswara; Wira and Satria (1993-2008); Waja (2000, Campro and CPS); Gen2 (Campro and CPS); Satria Neo (Campro and CPS); Persona and Persona Elegance; and Exora (CPS). ATF-XP3 is not recommended for the Perdana, Waja 1.8 and Savvy. It is also not recommended for the Inspira due to different transmission technology requirements.
The retail price for a one-litre bottle of ATF-XP3 is RM29.96 in Peninsular Malaysia, and RM30.46 in East Malaysia.
