Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos has hinted that the company is still open to the idea of electric power. Just today he went on record saying that he could “definitely imagine a fully electric Rolls-Royce,” but only if they could find a batteries that were capable of “ranges that are acceptable to our customers.”
The company experimented with electric power when it dreamed up the 102EX concept – an idea that was ultimately scrapped when Rolls Royce couldn’t get passed the long charging times and limited range. But at least this statement shows that the company isn’t completely done with the alternative propulsion.
