In a string of tweets, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have more or less confirmed that they’ve signed a deal with Amazon Prime. While Amazon Prime isn’t as widely recognised as its counterparts like Netflix or HBO for original content, a car show with the trio would probably benefit the online streaming service in a big way.
Being an Amazon Prime show might mean the trio will get a lot more airtime seeing as the service is available worldwide through the internet.
For those concerned with the style and overall production quality of this new show, reports state that former Top Gear producer Andy Wilman will be signing up as well. Having the team back together again under a new company could just be what the show needs to keep the approach fresh. No release dates have been set, but expect an announcement by the end of the year.
