0Audi is ready for start of Formula Student Germany
Formula Student Germany will take place between July 28 and August 2, 2015 and will primarily examine the team performance of students of engineering and science. Aspects will be assessed such as the construction, financial planning and sales presentation of their single‑seat racecars. Each team’s points will then be added to its result in the race. Traditionally, Formula Student Germany is divided into a competition for cars with combustion engines and another for cars with electric motors. Altogether, 112 student teams will compete at the Hockenheimring.
Experienced experts will represent Audi at Formula Student Germany as members of the jury. Together with other experts from the automotive industry, including suppliers, they will examine the concepts and cars of the students’ teams, and will be available to provide advice.
This year, Audi is sponsoring four teams from Germany and the Netherlands: Team University Racing of the Technical University of Eindhoven, Team Schanzer Racing Electric Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences, TUfast Racing Team of the Technical University of Munich and WHZ Racing Team of Zwickau University. The automobile manufacturer will present the “Audi Vorsprung Award” ‑ a special prize for the best lightweight‑construction concept, whereby the most important criterion is the efficiency of the overall concept.
Formula Student Germany is regarded as an important facility for creating contacts between automobile companies and talented young engineers. Audi’s personnel marketing department will present itself to the students with a stand at the FSG Forum and with the Audi RS 5 TDI competition concept technical study, and will inform them about career entry possibilities. This exchange of information and opinions on a personal level between next‑generation construction engineers and Audi staff has proven to be very useful. Former participants in Formula Student Germany, who are now employed in the company’s Technical Development division, will also be present and will report on their experience at Audi.
