Suzuki Motor Corporation is celebrating 30th anniversary of the iconic GSX-R supersport bike series in 2015. To commemorate the anniversary, Team SUZUKI ECSTAR, Suzuki’s MotoGP team will participate with a 30th anniversary color that evokes the first 1985 GSX-R750’s blue/white coloring. The special-colored MotoGP machine GSX-RR will compete at the ninth round German GP and tenth round Indianapolis GP (United States).
Plus, GSX-R600/750/1000 (overseas models), the current lineup of GSX-R series will also be offered with two types of 30th anniversary colors of blue/white and red/black colorings. Along with a special 30th anniversary decal on their fuel tank, they will be launched overseas including Europe and North America.
Ever since its launch in 1985 with the first GSX-R750, the GSX-R series has been a popular high-performance sportbike for its lightweight and high output owing to feedback of leading-edge technologies earned from racing activities. In 2012, cumulative production of the series reached one million units. Racing machines based on the GSX-R series have won a number of glories including Endurance World Championship, World Superbike Championship, Suzuka 8-Hours, and All-Japan Superbike Championship.
