Lucas Auer is the 2011 JK Racing Asia Series Champion! The young Austrain was declared Champion completing the season with 292 points collected in the 18 round Asia wide race series. He had a good pace but was not fast enough to catch up to the eventual race winner, Ikhwan. Auer took some time to process the fact that he was the Champion and was calm as he got out of his car finishing the 18th race of the year in third behind Afiq Ikhwan and Nabil Jeffri. The final race of the season also saw race winner, Ikhwan creating history claiming his fourth back-to-back win and his tenth win of the season. He finished the season second with 285 points. Ikhwan was filled with mixed emotions during the post race press conference, obviously elated with the wins although slightly disappointed with not winning the Championship. “First of all thank you to my team, they have done a fantastic job. Thank you to Petronas for sponsoring me.
