Want to know what are the top selling car in China? Well 7 of the 10 best-selling passenger cars in China in 2011 were produced by either the Volkswagen Group or General Motors. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers these were the 2 biggest brands in China for 2011. Running ahead of the pack was GM’s Buick Excelle (pictured above) with sales of 254,000 units. VW’s Lavida came in second followed by GM’s Chevrolet Cruze. The fourth to sixth spots were taken by VW’s models — Jetta, Bora and Santana. GM’s Chevrolet New Sail took seventh place. Rounding up the last three slots were China FAW Group Co.’s Xiali, the Hyundai Elantra Yuedong and the Ford Focus. The top 10 best-sellers were all compact cars and they recorded sales of around 2.1 million units in China.
The top best-seller among all cars in China in 2011 was the Wuling Sunshine commercial microvan of SAIC-GM-Wuling, with sales of 731,700 units.
