In the motoring business you do not need large volume of sales to be successful. Instead you need quality desirable niche products just like what Porsche AG produces. Already the most successful car manufacturer in the world with huge profits, they have not been sitting in their sports cars and laughing all the way to the Swiss bank, instead they have increased their attention on their product range and have introduced a new 911 coupe last last year. Months after that release in North America, we are travelling to the coast of North Africa to test drive the drop top version of this latest 911 sports car, the cabrio. Keys to the all new Porsche 911 cabrio were handed to us at the car park of the Hotel Sheraton Salobre Golf Resort and Spa in Maspalomas, the island of Gran Canaria (off the west coast of North Africa), Spain for us to personally evaluate this car along some stunning scenery.
This 911’s stunning elegance strikes you with its athletic looking shoulders running the length from the rear to the front like a beast ready to pounce its prey. Here the 911 cabrio was ready to pounce the tarmac ahead of us but with added glamour of being topless. The roof now retracts in just 13 seconds and can be worked while driving at speeds of up to 50km/h. Looking like a muscle-bound wrestler as the light reflected against its panels, we could clearly see its character lines in the early morning sun. It is clear that Porsche is keeping to its retro 911 design theme more so with this latest offering. More of the test drive…..just after our motoring review show on LiteFM this coming Saturday.
