Remember the Mirai? That simple looking hydrogen-powered sedan that Toyota has slated for launch stateside in October, complete with a developed hydrogen refueling infrastructure? Well part of getting the public to accept something so radically new is to develop a culture around it, and there’s nothing that develops culture like tugging on the heartstrings and drawing up old memories.
Toyota’s “Fueled by Everything” campaign is aimed at showing how hydrogen fuel is the future, and tying it with what we have in the real world. It’s an interesting concept, and so far they’re two videos in for the series.
For now the Mirai is being pushed in the progressive state of California, but eventually Toyota hopes to see a nation-wide rollout. Infrastructure and acceptance is key, and they may well be on to something here- inspiring consumers one at a time. And even kids, who are literally the biggest representation of the future, can appreciate the simplicity of these videos.
