Alexi Smith, or Noriyaro as he’s better known in the drift world, is finally back with what looks to be a series of episodes chronicling his drift adventures in Japan. Emigrating from Australia back in 2008 with nothing but a camera and computer, he’s come a long way in his drifting, practicing with some of the best drifters on some of the best circuits for drifting.
He was on a hiatus for a while as he had other things to attend to, occasionally revisiting his YouTube channel and website. Where he used to post periodic updates from time to time, this “Ep 1” suffix may be a hint of things to come.
This video is more of a first-person diary of his drifting exploits, and in this particular one he swaps out his broken speedometer cable in order to fix the power steering and HICAS issues on his drift missile.
He also attempts to tackle some snow drifting with a set of snow tyres, but as shown in the video it’s not quite as easy as it seems. The hard-edged Russians still have the advantage when it comes to snow drifting, evidenced by their numerous street drifting videos on YouTube. Hopefully by now, the weather has taken a turn for the better and Noriyaro can return to business as usual.
