Mazda recently announced that they’ve produced their millionth CX-5 at the end of April this year.
Sure, the Mazda3 hit the million mark first, but consider the fact that the CX-5 is a completely new nameplate and that it was Mazda’s first stint at a mid-sized crossover and it’s a lot more impressive.
The high number of SUVs made can be attributed to the car’s global appeal. Not only has been crowned Car of the Year in Japan between 2012-13, it has also racked up over 60 other international motoring awards.
The CX-5 was one of the first to bear the KODO design language and is produced in a number of countries, including Japan, China, Russia, Vietnam and of course right here in Malaysia as well.
