Mercedes made a big splash with their Mercedes CSC sedan at the recent Beijing Motor Show opening day. BMW and Audi should have some concern if this car goes into production as is. What sets apart the four-door ‘Concept Style Coupe’ from the others is that it dares to defy styling convention and goes beyond the typical car designs. Mercedes expects the Concept Style Coupé to become a design benchmark for sporty mid-size vehicles in the future. Powering the Coupé concept is a new four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that provides 155 kW (211 hp). Power from the engine is transmitted to all 4MATIC wheels through the 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The interior of the Concept Style Coupé is very impressive. The Concept Style Coupé’s interior features a dashboard covered in white nubuck leather, which offers a rich contrast to the anthracite Alcantara on the upper surface of the dashboard. The concept’s sports steering wheel is covered in suede leather, thus providing exceptional grip. All chrome trim pieces and controls are also anodized in black. The concept car’s HMI operating unit shines in black anodized aluminium. All four integral seats come with integrated head restraints that are installed in the sport version of the new A-Class. Mercedes-Benz will start to roll out the series-production version of the concept in 2013 under the model name CLA.
