Bentley is reportedly planning a rear-while drive sports coupe for 2016 that will be tasked with blowing their current four-wheel-drive Continental GT3-R out of the water in terms of performance. The car will feature a tuned version of the twin-turbo 4 litre V8 engine to deliver more than 600 hp and be 200 kilograms lighter than the GT3-R.
Bentleys aren’t known for being light cars, but the company aims to achieve a sub-2000 kilogram weight on this model by using a wide range of lightweight materials. This though will up the car’s production cost, giving it a projected price tag of 300,000 GBP.
It’s safe to say that the new Bentley will draw visual cues from the GT3-R, but expect more aggressive styling to match the performance bump it’ll receive. Given that the GT3-R is capable of hitting 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, it will be interesting to see what the Crewe crew will be able to achieve with this new extreme sportscar.
